We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Additional Learning Needs Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming primary school team. The successful candidate will support pupils with additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
- Assist the class teacher in adapting learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.
- Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Help pupils remain engaged and focused during lessons.
- Work closely with teachers, the SENCo, and other professionals to support individual learning plans.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Support pupils with personal care where required.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a school or similar setting (preferred).
- Understanding of Additional Learning Needs / Special Educational Needs.
- Patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to working with children.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
