We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Additional Learning Needs Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming primary school team. The successful candidate will support pupils with additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
  • Assist the class teacher in adapting learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Help pupils remain engaged and focused during lessons.
  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCo, and other professionals to support individual learning plans.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
  • Support pupils with personal care where required.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children in a school or similar setting (preferred).
  • Understanding of Additional Learning Needs / Special Educational Needs.
  • Patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
