Are you confident managing a classroom and supporting students in their learning? We are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work in a range of secondary schools across Rhondda Cynon Taf.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with classroom experience who are looking to progress in education, including experienced Teaching Assistants, Classroom Assistants, or aspiring teachers who want to gain valuable school-based experience.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-set lessons, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure students remain engaged with their work in the absence of the regular teacher.
The Role: Cover Supervisor
As a Cover Supervisor in a secondary school, your responsibilities will include:

Supervising classes during teacher absence

Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials
-
Managing classroom behaviour and engagement
-
Supporting pupils to stay on task and complete their work
-
Maintaining a positive and productive learning environment
-
Reporting back to teaching staff on lesson progress
You may work across a range of subjects, providing valuable support to schools while gaining excellent classroom experience.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for confident and reliable individuals who can manage a classroom environment and support students effectively.
Ideal candidates will have:

Previous experience working in schools or with young people

The confidence to lead a classroom using pre-set lesson plans

Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills

A calm, approachable, and assertive manner

Excellent communication and organisational skills

The ability to adapt quickly to different schools and classroom environments
Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Youth Worker, Sports Coach, or Tutor is highly beneficial.
