We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher to join a secondary school in Tonypandy. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and practical lessons that inspire students to develop creativity, problem-solving skills, and technical knowledge across the Design and Technology curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality Design and Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Teach a range of DT disciplines, which may include product design, resistant materials, graphics, or engineering.
- Create a safe and engaging workshop/classroom environment for practical learning.
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Encourage creativity, innovation, and independent thinking in students.
- Maintain strong classroom management and promote positive behaviour.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider school community.
- Ensure all health and safety requirements are followed within the workshop environment.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Design and Technology at secondary school level (preferred).
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of workshop safety procedures and practical teaching methods.
- Passion for inspiring students through creative and practical learning.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
