SET Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across a range of schools in South Wales.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who are passionate about helping students thrive in a supportive learning environment.
Due to the nature of the placements, applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle, as travel between schools or placements may be required.
The Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support for pupils with additional learning needs.
Your responsibilities will include:

Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs

Assisting with the development and delivery of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

Supporting classroom activities and encouraging student engagement in learning

Creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Supporting the safety, wellbeing, and development of pupils
-
Working closely with teachers, parents, and support staff to support student progress

Monitoring and reporting on student progress and behaviour

Requirements
To be successful in this SEN Teaching Assistant role, candidates should have:

Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach

A genuine passion for supporting children with additional learning needs

The ability to work effectively as part of a team within a school environment
Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support, Teaching Assistance, or childcare are desirable but not essential.
Career Progression Opportunity
Candidates will initially be employed through SET Recruitment.
After a 12-week placement period, the school may choose to offer a trial period, with the potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.
