As a Cover Supervisor, you will lead classes in the absence of teachers, support student learning, and help inspire pupils to achieve their best.

Role Responsibilities – Welsh-Speaking Cover Supervisor

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

• Supervise classrooms during teacher absences and deliver pre-set lesson plans

• Ensure pupils complete assigned tasks and follow school policies and procedures

• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

• Use strong communication skills to engage students and promote learning

• Assist with administrative duties such as taking attendance, collecting homework, and maintaining records

• Report concerns or incidents to teaching staff and contribute to a safe and respectful learning environment

This role provides the opportunity to gain valuable classroom leadership experience while supporting Welsh-medium education.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should have:

• Fluency in Welsh and English, with strong communication skills in both languages

• A current Enhanced DBS

• Previous experience working with young people, ideally in a school or educational setting

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills

• The ability to remain calm and assertive under pressure

• A genuine passion for education and supporting students’ development

Relevant experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or youth worker is highly desirable.

Working Hours

• Full-time, Monday to Friday, following school operating hours
